Faculty and Artistic Fellowship Opportunities

Accademia dell’Arte Symposium
July 5 - July 12, 2011
The Accademia dell’Arte Symposium brings together its core faculty for one week to present workshops to US faculty, theatre practitioners and artists interested in the approach to theatre and movement training practiced at the Accademia, which incorporates physical theatre, mask work and voice.
In addition to daily experiential workshops that will highlight aspects of the conservatory-style training, there will be seminars, demonstrations and presentations illustrating the various cultural and artistic activities sponsored by the Accademia.
Extracurricular activities during the week provide the opportunity to appreciate Arezzo and Tuscany, which constitute the exceptional cultural setting of Accademia dell’Arte.
The ultimate goal of the Symposium is two-fold: to replenish the creative self by taking experiential classes, and to give visiting faculty an idea of what the student experience is like here in order to better inform students at one’s home institution.
Past participants have included faculty representing:
Boston University, Tufts University, University of Virginia, Davidson College, Virginia Commonwealth University, Wagner College, Southern Methodist University, East Carolina University, College of William & Mary, Texas Christian University, Buena Vista University, Birmingham-Southern College, Southern Utah University, Mississippi University for Women, Hendrix College, Rhode Island College, Wheaton College, University of North Texas Denton.
