PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

Over the course of the 2-week program participants will engage in collaborative workshops and cultural tours along with having the opportunity to reflect on their work with colleagues in a facilitated environment that consistently encourages a renewed and expanded vision of education and self-expression. Combining veteran teachers with graduate students will be an essential component of this program to inject experience with a renewed idealism and to ground idealism in the wisdom of experience. Throughout the two weeks, we will meet as a whole group, in smaller groups, and keep individual journals.

In order to look at methods of growing student/teacher potential, creativity, and achievement in our home classrooms, we will investigate and be inspired by the Renaissance vision of knowledge, art, and exchange, along with the integration of the Greek’s teoria, praxis and poesies: thinking, doing and making.

The Etruscan city of Arezzo allows the whole group direct access to the accomplishments of Petrarch, Giorgio Vasari, Piero della Francesca, Michelangelo, Guido d’Arezzo, Della Robbia, Pietro Aretino and many others. Each day participants will approach the work from these different ways of learning.

Every individual will take part in all of the offerings:
