Accademia dell’Arte is a vibrant community of performing artists, musicians, scholars and students working in an environment dedicated to realizing individual goals and collaborative projects. The Accademia provides an extraordinarily unique experience for students currently studying and training in theatre, dance, music, filmmaking and studio art that wish to extend their horizons with an intensive period of work in Italy during the academic semesters or summer. The addition of our innovative Master of Fine Arts in Physical Theatre program for actors will add to an already stimulating environment that has been developed over the years.

The Accademia is located in the medieval town of Arezzo just south of Florence in the picturesque hills of Tuscany. Our sixteenth century villa houses our academic, residential and performance spaces. Here, students will be able to work within the vital and rich heritage of Italian culture while collaborating with distinguished international artists.

Our international faculty is comprised of recognized masters at the cutting edge of their craft. They are all deeply rooted in artistic collaboration, integrity and innovation at the center of their respective arts.

At Accademia dell’Arte we understand that the life of an artist is a lifelong journey expressing one of the most essential needs of humanity: the need to create. As creativity is a universal need, we encourage our students to be engaged in their communities, both locally and globally, by creating art that is both for the community and of the community; to be engaged in the political and social milieu in which they live and work, and to dream beyond the spiritless rhythms of daily life through their art.

Choose to study with us and you will have an experience that will become a point of reference for a lifetime in the arts. We welcome you both as a student and a collaborator in our small community.
